A shocking discovery recently made beneath the city of Orvieto, Italy was the first Etruscan-style pyramid discovered here three years ago.
Experts had been discovering the entrance for some time and decided to start excavations, after which they discovered that it was the first of its kind and most likely the last as the Etruscan empire did not long after that.
The fact that we know that it is an Etruscan building is based on the fact that it has stairs carved directly inside the walls, which is obvious to them, like a signature of some kind of.
They dug right through the rubble there to find themselves emerging from the structure’s walls and floors. After digging some more, they realized the fact that the shape inside was very strange, so before they knew it, they made an official report that they had in fact discovered a pyramid. some sunken tower.
The ancient tunnels and cave systems they passed through also made it clear that this was a much larger construction than they had initially anticipated.
The discovery was officially made by Claudio Bizarri and David B. George when they said it was the greatest discovery they had ever come across.
Outside of their architectural prowess, we know very little about the Etruscans, to begin with, as they apparently lived in central Italy around 900 BC and they were exterminated by the Roman empire after that.
They were one of the greatest builders of all time, but sadly they couldn’t survive a direct attack from the Roman empire, and all knowledge vanished. According to them.
